Yay! My Dex arrived arrived this evening via a Hermes courier. Boo hiss... can't hook it up to a monitor until tomorrow when I buy a HDMI cable.

My DeX also arrived this morning but I stupidly forgot to buy a mouse. So I’ve ordered one from amazon and it will be here tomorrow. I have a keyboard and loads of hdmi cables. I didn’t even know when mine has shipped. Hermes just left it outside my door this morning.

The wife has loved my Note 4 since i got the 8, its still a very capable device, not sure how much longer the updates will come for it.
Not at home right now so my Dex might be sitting outside in the wet, or even better, in someone else's hands after reading previous posts.

Luckily for me I had the day off work and I had returned home from th Doctors jut before 10 am so it hadn't been sitting there very long. I found it ironic that Hermes posted a car through the door stating that it had been left outside. Yeah I saw the parcel long before I got inside and saw the card.

As it's the end of December I finally got the November security update.

Unlocked N8 with EE SIM / Firmware.

I'm also on EE with an unlocked note 8 brought direct from Samsung UK and I'm still running August security patch.

It looks like all the branded firmware version in the UK now have November security update. But the unlocked models don't. What gives?!

For some strange reason, Samsung often leave the non Carrier versions till last.

I don't mind as long as there are no security issues to be fixed, but if there are it's been over 3 months with no updates, my Note 4 is getting more attention lol

For me I think timely security updates are essential and I'm really disappointed with samsung on this. My s7 edge was far better supported than their latest flagship. I mind less about OS updates provided the phone is working fine as is

I agree. But what's wrong with the firmware.?
There is absolutely no difference between BTU from Samsung and EVR from EE other than it enables Volte.
So, why wouldn't you?

I just presumed with the EVR came the crappy EE logos and the such like
if they don't I'm getting it tommorow. haha

I think the EVR firmware has the EE app installed and thats about it. The Facebook app was also installed but not sure if that's on stock or not. I wish VoLTE was possible on unbranded firmware but as it isn't, it is definitely worth getting the EVR firmware if you are on EE. I had an unbranded s7 edge before and I put the EVR firmware on it. It makes a much better experience as VoLTE with WiFi calling is great
