Un-Activated Droid X.

A friend gave me his old Droid X. I did a factory reset now I'm kind of stuck. Can you still root it and then put a ROM on or am I out of luck? I have no plans on activating it...Just wanted to mess around with rooting and roming it...

Should be able to do that. You will have download the roms, bootstrap and such over wifi or on your computer and then transfer them over to the phone. But I can't think of a reason you can't play around with those things.

Thanks for the reply jsharp. I should have thought of this before I did the factory reset, but now the only thing I can do when I turn the X on is try and activate it. That's why I was wondering if I blew it by doing the factory reset. At least before I was able to use it like a mini-tablet and use it on WiFi...

Tap all four corners and that will bypass the activation screen.
