Unable to backup to Google Account?

Under account then sync you see toggles there for contacts and such?

I have a feeling this isn't the official Google Backup feature -- it might be Sony's own backup system. Since the phone is somewhat old, it might not work any more with Google's own backup system.

Thanks B. Diddy, looks like I will have to back up to Xperia Companion manually or routinally to an SD card. At least I can stop trying to find a solution.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure if it was ever definitively determined that the backup feature on Sony phones was different from Google's own backup. Go to Settings>Google -- is Backup listed under "Services On This Device"?
