Unable to connect with Android Auto

[Android Central Question]

Why am I not able to connect with my 2018 Santa Fe Sports on board Android Auto. I have a ZTE Max Pro with Marshmallow OS

I have the same problems with my moto z Droid and my Sony ax5000 radio. Connects but won't stay connected. Also tried different cables.

Welcome to Android Central! Does it just suddenly dump you back to the normal homescreen on the phone? Does the phone have any issues when you connect to your PC via USB, like frequent dropped connections there? It's possible there's a problem with the USB ports on the phone or the head unit.

That what it does. Android auto goes back to the normal screen. I don't believe it's the head unit because other phones work ok with it.

Try going to Settings>Apps, selecting Android Auto, and clearing cache/data.
