Unable to customize ringtone

[Android Central Question]

S10 just upgraded to Android 11.
Cannot change/add customized ringtone.
Scroll to ringtones, select from media folder, save.
Does not save
Help!! Everyone has their own tone

Where you getting the customized ringtones? Did you put them in ringtones folder?

Welcome to Android Central! It shouldn't be asking you to "Save" anything -- you should just be choosing a ringtone file that's already in your /Ringtones folder.

Show us a screenshot of what you see when you choose a ringtone: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html. You'll have to register first.

Ok this is going to sound stupid but cannot locate the paper clip to attach screenshots.
I have used the same method since I got phone but now doesn’t work. Will attach if you tell me how to

Ah, ok -- Samsung has a different interface than Pixels. Do you get an error message when you tap Save, or is it just that nothing happens?

Nope... no error message. The ring tone just not saved.
I’ve been doing this ever since I got the phone and it’s just since I downloaded last update I’ve had issues.

Try wiping the cache partition: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/de...y-s10/wipe-cache-partition-samsung-galaxy-s10. Be aware that with Android 11, I believe you have to plug the phone into a computer USB port first, before doing all the other steps.

So are you meaning to try to access ring tones from that app instead of file explorer?
File explorer seems to be the default when I try to add ringtone?
Can I change?

Sounds scary but willing to try if it’ll help me get back this major function
