Unable to delete extra home pages on tablet?

Tab 4 VERSION 5.1.1

I have 4 empty home screen pages. Previously I could pinch the page and select Remove. Now when I press Remove noting happens. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Galaxy S4 forum (for the phone) to the Galaxy Tab4 forum.

Are you using the stock TouchWiz launcher, or a 3rd party one (like Nova Launcher)?

I'm not using any third party tools. Just the phone.

Are you saying that you used to be able to remove homescreens such that you had fewer than 5? I recall some prior versions of the stock Android launcher had a minimum of 5 homescreens -- my old 2013 Nexus 7 running Marshmallow is like that.

Sometimes a simple reboot can fix glitches like that .
