Unable to fill a form in an old app

[Android Central Question]

Background: Few years ago my son made an DIY smarthome system with an app which control the lighting, curtains and door lock. The thing is we broke up, and the app is having an issue with newer android version.

Issue: To use the control the smart home I have to enter all these settings, but when I fill in the form, it just won't save. I have been keeping my old android phone just for this purpose, but it has recently died and I am not even able to close my curtains and lock my door... Is there any way I can get around filling in the forms in an older app

If the app is "homemade", we can't help. If the app is commercial, look to the developer for support. This, I'm afraid, is something we can't assist with.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you saying your son designed the app, or that he used an existing app on the Play Store to control the various smarthome features?
