Unable to see Iphone texts on S4

[AC Question]

This is a commonly asked question, but the common thread I've seen involve the user being a previous Iphone user. I've never owned a Iphone in my life and the S4 was my first jump into the "smart phone" market. I know several iphone users whose texts I receive, however there's one friend of mine, who I can never see their texts for whatever reason.

I'm inclined to think that it's a setting they have to enable or disable on their end, but I'm unsure. Any ideas?

Have you always had problems with this one contact - ie, their phone number, regardless of what phone they were using?

Sometimes missing a text or two happens, but if it's every text they send, it could be your SIM card, or theirs. Not sure about the newer ones out now, but maybe age has something to do with it.
