unable to send message with virgin mobile, error code 34

in use: just under one month.
carrier: virgin mobile
problem:
I've been having issues sending text messages via android messenger(google app) over my phone for the last two days(including today) and have received error code 34 and noticed my device has apparently lost connection to the tower.

I ran the programming function and a forced update at the instruction of the virgin mobile customer support rep and am honestly wondering if my device has a bad transmitter or something....

Contact Virgin again, ask for tech support and work it out with them. They can see your phone trying to make a connection (and failing if it does). It could be the phone, but it could also be just a bad SIM card, and that would be their responsibility.
