Unable to set-up my new Google Nexus 10 (Wi-Fi authentication)

I recently purchased a brand-new Google Nexus 10 and was attempting to set it up when I came across an issue which has stumped me for roughly an hour, and I'm hoping that someone here will be able to help me with this very annoying issue. When I was asked to select the Wi-Fi I would be be using, I selected my home Wi-Fi; unfortunately, instead of proceeding to the next step, it said "Authenticating..." and never resolved. I have retried this multiple times and have constantly gotten the same result, and have also completely restarted both my tablet and my Wi-Fi, to no avail.

I am getting my Wi-Fi through WOW!. Underneath, it says "Secured with WPA/WPA2 (WPS available)". Upon clicking it, it says that the signal strength is "Excellent" and the security is "WPA/WPA2 PSK", although that is meaningless to me. If needed, I will try to provide more information.

I would be desperately grateful for any help. Unfortunately, I'm extremely illiterate when it comes to technology, so step-by-step answers would be hugely appreciated with descriptions of what everything is.

Thank you for your time

It has been many months since I set my N10 up. I too have WOWWAY but I am running my own WiFi router.

IIRC then people that had the same issue as you did temporarily made their Wi-Fi unsecured [no longer required a password to connect] just long enough to set up the tablet. They then resecured their wi-fi and added the network to the fully operational tablet.

Are your other wi-fi devices connecting to the network?

You could always call wow. I've always had great customer service from them.
