Unable to sync Google acount

in Settings, I go to Accounts>Google>(my email)

I notice that it says 'Sync is turned off', so I click on my email in my Google account, and low and behold it reads at the bottom:Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."

Which is complete bull****, considering it's been giving me this error for a while now

anybody know what the hell is going on here? How do I fix this?

1st item to check: is global sync turned on in the control panel? If not turn it on
2nd item to check: force sync on your Google account by tapping and holding on the Google account name. Then select "sync now"
3rd item: if still no luck, delete the Google account, shut down the note and restart. Then add your Google account in the accounts setting. Should be good to go.
