Hi,
I am unable to sync DigiCal, Google Calendar and Samsung Stock Calendar, between my Galaxy s7 and my Galaxy Tab A. tablet.
Both devices have the latest version of 7.0 installed.
Syncing with those devices had not been a problem in the past, it even synced to my husbands iPad..
Could the problem be with the Firmware updates?
It seems that my phone can send calendar events to my tablet but not receive them.
I have gone through all of the settings I can think of and when I tap “sync or refresh” on all calendars, it goes through the motions and tells me that it synced successfully but in the end nothing happened.
I have researched this problem online for some time now and have tried many fixes but have not been able to solve this problem. Would it help if I root my Galaxy s7?
It seems that many users have this problem but I have not found any solution yet. Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions you might have.

For the Google Calendar account -- remember that you're not syncing things from the phone to the tablet, you're syncing both of them to your Google account in the cloud. On each device, go to Settings>Accounts-Google, and make sure both of them have the exact same Google account synced. Select it, and make sure Calendar sync is turned on. Then open the Calendar app on each device, tap Menu>Settings, and select the calendar in question -- make sure the sync toggle is turned on for that specific calendar.

For the stock Calendar -- I assume you're talking about the calendar events you enter into the Samsung account, correct? These would sync with your Samsung account, not your Google account. I'm not sure if the Samsung account syncs automatically across all of your devices that are also synced with that same account, but if they do, you would obviously have to make sure that both devices are logged in with that same Samsung account. Go to Settings>Accounts-Samsung on both devices, and make sure they're both logged into the exact same Samsung account.

I'm not sure about DigiCal. 3rd party calendar apps still access the same calendar accounts that the stock Samsung Calendar app or the Google Calendar app would access. Which calendar accounts on DigiCal are you trying to sync?

Hi B.Diddy, at this point I have 4 different calendars on both devices and hoped that at least 2 of them would sync.
Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sorry not to have written back sooner. The HDD on my laptop died (now I'm writing on my very old, very slow backup laptop) and it took me some time to find my original post again and all of the holiday activities are finally over.
Your detailed instructions make a lot of sense and I appreciate it very much.
Unfortunately,it didn't work for me. The tablet is working fine and so I will probably have to do a hard reset on my Galaxys7 phone. Maybe I will root it while I'm at it...
Most of all, thank you so much for your help!!

Ok -- going forward, when you create a calendar event, I highly recommend making sure you create it in a calendar that belongs to your Google account. Make sure it's not a Samsung account calendar, or a Phone account calendar (which is usually just called "My Calendar"). If you add events to your Google account's calendar, they'll sync with your Google Calendar in the cloud, and with any other device that's logged into your Google account.

Going from Google to Google Calendar seems so straight forward....but it just doesn't work for me. When I create an event on the DigiCalendar, it shows up on the Google Calendar on my Tablet. The same happens on my Gs7 Phone. An event created on my phone shows in Google and DigCalendars and also on my tablet calendars. But the event created on my Tablet shows in Google and DigCalendar on the tablet but it doen't sync to the phone..It seems that my Galaxy s7 can send but now receive from the cloud .I have been unable to solve this problem for a long time now. Have been through all of the settings I can think of. It used to work a long time ago but I don't remember if it was the other phone which I had rooted. The only other option I can think of is to do a hard reset. Hopefully, this will take care of it. My carrier is Verizon and I have gone through the cloud settings there. If you have any other suggestion, I will appreciate it very much. Thank you again for all of your help!

Just a quick update. Verizon Cloud must have been the problem. I disabled their cloud service and installed Google Drive.
Now everything is syncing well. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write and help. I appreciate it very much!!
