Unable to use wireless charging with otterbox defender

Hi, I recently got the samsung fast wireless charger and the otterbox defender case for my s7 and even though lots of people said it would work (including otterboxes own site, and people here), I cant get it to work. I've heard people say they have to lay it on a certain way but I've tried every way I can think of, and it just wont charge. Anyone have a method?
