Let's see if this makes sense to you. This is from a consumer perspective. Your company announced that they will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in October. It has been over a month and Verizon has said absolutely nothing else about it. That is the problem. Here is why that is:
Verizon Wireless arguably has the best network in the US. I believe that to be true and I am grateful for that. They are expensive, but I have no problem getting what I pay for. Reasonable people can disagree, but I'm sure you, your employer, and millions of others agree that Verizon offers the best phone service coupled with the fastest and most expansive 4G LTE network.
Samsung is currently the world's largest manufacturer of smartphones. Yes, more than Apple or anyone else.
Google's Android is the most popular mobile OS in the world. An OS that has a new version which has already received broad critical acclaim. Also, being a Nexus means that it will have the least bloatware from the carrier and the manufacturer.
So:
1. Best network
2. Most popular manufacturer
3. Most popular OS
4. New OS
5. Minimal if not non-existent bloat
And you wonder why people are clamoring to buy the device? To me, it sounds like you and your company have your collective heads buried in the sand on this one. And before I hear things like, "Verizon is a multi-billion dollar company. They know what they're doing!" By and large, yes, but large corporations don't always get it right. See Netflix and Research in Motion. As soon as you stop listening to your customers AND go so far as to chastise them for being passionate about wanting something that said company has announced, is when consumers find somewhere else to do business. It's really that simple.
