Unfortunately, Android System has stopped

[Android Central Question]

When I try to hit the share button on any photo I have saved in the default photo gallery app, it crashes and says, "Unfortunately, Android System has stopped". I can no longer share the photo to text messages or send to my pc using the Bluetooth connection. I factory reset the phone, it worked the first time, then continued with the same problem. I also tried another gallery app and it did the same thing when I hit the share button. What can I do?
****UPDATE: I preformed a second factory reset and discovered that the Facebook app was causing this share button issue. As a work around, I uninstalled the regular Facebook app and will be using "Facebook lite" for now on. It's too bad my Facebook has to go on a diet, hopefully someone will see this and tell the Facebook team to fix this bug with their app that causes my share button to crash when using the gallery app.

Welcome to Android Central! Yes, we've seen this reported elsewhere in the forums as well. So far, I've only seen it mentioned on Samsung phones -- is that what you have? Facebook has been messing a few things up lately on Samsung phones -- FB Messenger has been causing problems with sending unintentionally zoomed-in and cropped images as well.

My device does not have the Facebook, Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp. So when I uninstalled Face Slim, it didn't solve the problem. What helped me was disabling Direct Share mode in the setting. If someone else is reading this, you might try that. My device is LG V20 Android 8.0.0.

Try clearing data,cache and force stop gallery

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone is it? I can't find one called "Slim Q." Do you mean ThinQ? If so, what's the model name (i.e., G7, G8, etc.)?

I am having the same issue on the LG G8 Thinq. When I try to share anything the app I am sharing from just closes. If I go in and try to share a second or 3rd time I get "Android system keeps stopping message" I have expedience this issue on the Google app trying to share a website, Google Keep and the gallery.

I tried your suggestion on gallery and keep with no change. Still closes when I try and share.

Does it still happen in Safe Mode? (You'll only be able to test preinstalled apps.)

In safe mode I was able to share.

Do you have any tips for this. I have not installed many new apps. Can update to apps affect this?

Open your Play Store app, tap Menu>My Apps>Installed, and sort them by Last Updated. Start uninstalling apps from most recently updated on down.

Ok, so if you want, now you can start reinstalling apps, and each time you reinstall an app, test sharing again. That way you can pinpoint the culprit.
