Unfortunately calendar storage has stopped

I have been getting this a lot since the crap update came out. Never had it before the update and my wife has the same phone with the crap update and she hasn't gotten it. Does anyone know how to remedy this? I have searched and only found threads that are from 2012 and just on other carriers or different phones.

I am having the same issue! The pop up that says "calendar storage has stopped working" pops up multiple times a day and each time really makes the phone lag. Plus it empties my calendar! Fortunately, the sync works so my calendar fills back up. But this is really annoying and yes, I'm pretty sure it started with that last update.

Did you perform a Factory Reset after the last update? If not, you may want to.
Which calendar app - the stock one or Google Calendar?
Have you tried manually going into the Application Manager and clearing data on the Calendar Storage app?

i'm afraid if i reset it the calendar data will be lost. I am a mom of 5 and i have EVERYTHING stored in my calendar. Dr appointments, school functions, birthday parties, EVERYTHING.

Clearing data and cache on the phone only effect it. Your data remains safe and sound on Google's servers. it will

Before clearing anything, a user will need to confirm that all calendar data is coming from Google. The default Calendar app on the Verizon S3 does have a local calendar called "My Calendar".

To the OP - I had this too and I can't remember what I did to fix it. I thought I emailed myself or jotted the fix down but no luck finding anything. The way I'd would be:

1. cache clear of "Calendar Storage"
2. cache clear of "Calendar"
3. cache clear both
4. cache/data clear of "Calendar Storage"
5. cache/data clear of "Calendar"
6. cache/data clear of both
7. bite the bullet and factory reset

...pausing between each step to see if the problem is resolved. This would be if you have the time and patience and want to go from low-to-high impact actions.

Hello guys,

I has the same issue but I solved it easily
Go to the app managers - Choose "Running" .. you will find Calender Storage .. press on it .. the message will be shown on the system not on new tap .. you can press STOP and will never come again :)

I did this with my note 3 but i dont know if will be good for different andriod devices or not

I am having this problem on my xperia Z2 too, where the Calendar keep notifying how it had stopped working.
My issue was persistent and not random

I was not going to go through the hassle of a factory reset as suggested by Sony.

What I did was, for all calendar related apps(calendar, calendar storage, Sony's Calendar which runs off google calendar)
1) Stop all process for the related apps
2) Stop all cache process for the related apps
3) clear cache and data of all for the related apps
4) Uninstall Calendar.
5) Install Calendar from Playstore
6) The newly installed calendar will require you to sign up new or existing account, click "Not Now".
7) Go to Accounts, under Google, uncheck calendar sync and check it again to re-sync to the new calendar.

So far starting calendar has no error.

Hey, Thanks.

I think your solution worked for my xperia Z2 as well, but I was only abl3 to follow you up to step five (5).

Again, thanks a lot.

Thanks so much - this worked for me, with the exception of going to "running" - I had to go to "All"
:D
