Unfortunately Google Chrome Has Stopped error

Hey everybody, I'm getting the "unfortunately Google Chrome has stopped" error message alot recently when using the Chrome browser. Anybody else getting this?

Chrome's fully up to date? Have you already tried clearing its cache and data from the Settings>Apps​ menu?

Everything's up-to-date and I've cleared the cache

How about the data? That's separate from the app cache.

Won't that delete all my bookmarks etc. though?

If you have Chrome set to sync with your Google account, then your bookmarks should be synced with your desktop Chrome. Open the Chrome browser on your computer, click the Menu button at the upper right, then hover over Bookmarks. Do you see all of your phone's bookmarks there, including the Mobile Bookmarks folder? If so, then your bookmarks are synced, and if you clear the data from the mobile Chrome app, the bookmarks will quickly sync again with your Google account.

If your bookmarks don't seem to be synced, go to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your account], and make sure Chrome is checked on.

Did that resolve your issue? I get that same error with hangouts. I have tried clearing all of the data and it hasn't made a difference. I don't even use hangouts and I have it disabled at the moment.

At the moment the problem with Chrome has gone away on its own. I get hangouts giving me the same message saying its stopped like you, but Hangouts is full of bugs and has always been a pain in the ***, so its no surprise. I've actually noticed that I get alot of apps saying they've stopped recently, even ones that I'm not using, like you say. Seemed to start when the Play Store was updated if I remember correctly

This problem just went away on its own in the end for me, I'm not sure what fixed it
