Unfortunately, TouchWiz Home Has stopped.

Try these 3 things:

1- Disable all motion/gestures
2-delete/disable facebook messenger app
3-clear cache/data for touchwiz home apps by going to, Settings>App Manager>All>Touchwiz Home and TouchWiz easy Home
4-Clear Cache partition on phone by;
-Power off phone, once phone is completely powered off, hold Up volume+Home+Power buttons till the little androind pops
-Scroll down to where it sais "Clear Cache Partion" and select that by pressing the power button, once you click on this and the cache is cleared screen will highlight Reboot system, select then and you are all set.

-tTese are all the steps i took and the Touchwiz Home no longer crashes

I hope this helps!

...the only method that you listed which is needed to FIX this whole "Unfortunately, TouchWiz Home has stopped" issue is your #1 suggestion to disable all of the "Motion & Gestures" by clicking them over to "OFF" under the main settings menu, after doing that ONE SINGLE THING it COMPLETELY FIXES THE ISSUE -- Doing ALL of those other tedious methods that you said to do is ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY. Just an FYI if anyone happens to read this post 1st & actually does all of those things✌💯

Does anyone know why this actually just started happening for everyone?

I find it really odd that with no phone update, we all recently started having TouchWiz crash

I just recently upgraded my Note 4 to 5.1.1 (late to the party I know) and I started getting this error quite frequently. Not saying it's connected to that but I wasn't getting it prior.

I also started experiencing this issue yesterday. Currently trying the motions and gestures work around, as stated.

I also have a note edge att version sm915a, and also am experiencing the "touchwiz home not responding," or whatever iy actually says problem. I have NOT installed any new apps within 30 days time period I tried disabling motions and gesturez, have cleared cache and still am having the isssue. Funny enough is that this started exactly like 4 or five days ago. In line with the above 2 or three posters. It must be a common link

This started for me a couple days ago. Tried the disabling of motion gestured, no luck. Just completed a factory reset and the issue returned within a few hours.

Just wanted to add that, before I tried the factory reset, I tried clearing the cache partition and installing a Google Now Launcher as an alternative UI. No luck on any of them.

So i just tried clearing my data on touchwiz home. It sucked because i had to redo all my home screens, but i will report back if this worked or not. So far so good, but i'm not confident that was the reason for it crashing.

EDIT: this did not work either. Dang

Update: Motions and gestures work around did not work for me. Wifes phone started having the issue on the same night as mine (same model of phone). Have tried a couple of other work arounds found elsewhere, nothing has solved the problem up to this point.

Planning to chat with samsung help sometime after work this evening to see if they can assist. Note: The only thing I can't seem to find is anyone actually asking samsung what the problem could be. This appears to have been a recurring issue since at least mid-2014.

Yes the clearing caChe of touchwiz DOES NOT WORK so confirmed, also clearing cache partition in recovery DOES NOT WORK, confirmed as well, motions and gestures DOES NOT WORK, confirmed, and lastly factory reset isn't working either.

I'm left to conclude that some application that most of us share in possession was recently updated and is causing a clash with touchwiz. I'm wondering if a factory reset without any app updates, or booting into safe mode and seeing if any of that works. That's the only other course of action I can deduce through elimination of what HASN'T worked so far.

Right?

You can add clearing DATA of touchwiz home does not work

Same issue here the past few days. TouchWiz is crashing like crazy on my AT&T Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.1.1. I've just gone through the troubleshooting in johnnyyl's post from June:
1- Disable all motion/gestures
2-delete/disable facebook messenger app
3-clear cache/data for touchwiz home apps by going to, Settings>App Manager>All>Touchwiz Home and TouchWiz easy Home
4-Clear Cache partition on phone
The only motion feature I had enabled was "Palm swipe to capture" but I've had that enabled for over a year. My gut says it is some conflict with Facebook Messenger. I remember that application updating sometime within the past few days. I've uninstalled it. But I also went ahead and cleared all the data for the TouchWiz Home app and cleared my cache through recovery. Keeping my fingers crossed that something worked.

Like so many others, I started getting this error in the last few days. I have the Note 4. I seem to get my error message more often than not while using or while exiting my Facebook app. I have the Facebook messenger app installed but RARELY use it.

I'm having the exact same issue. I have the sm-n910a unlocked through at&t. I updated my phone to 5.1.1 through odin manually. I got the file from at&t and everything worked ok until I got the "unfortunately touch wiz home has stopped" message. If you figure out an answer to this problem will you let me know? Thanks

Yep, no luck with any of the 4 things I tried. It's still crashing when I try to exit an app and it tries to go to the home screen or when I try to wake it up from the screen being asleep.
