Yes I wish there was Universal battery charging for all these phones......how inconvenient to leave the Note 4's charger at work and not being able to charge my phone with a simple USB 2 connection.....go figure, never thought, battery charging would be a problem...lol..the whole weekend with out charging.....unless someone with a Note 4 charger handy can do me a solid....or I have to buy extra accessories...who would have thought....

You may want to consider investing in the extra battery and charging kit by Samsung for the future.

I use the charger from my previous phone, or the charger from my Galaxy tablet most of the time. I only use the charger brick that came with my Note 4 when I want rapid charging.

I know this does not help you now, though. Do you know anyone with a newer, non-iphone who would let you use their charger for a couple of hours?

Well, if you're feeling really brave, you could always visit Best Buy or maybe Walmart later today when they open for an inexpensive charger. You just need to hire someone for crowd control, lol.

lol but on a serious note if I decide to go tomorrow and buy one I would need the correct cable..I would have to ask for Note 4 charger and cable ...correct?...nothing else will fit...I assume...I'm new to this...lol

Just ask for a cable and charger compatible with your Note 4. Usually, the carriers have them, too, just more expensive probably.

Pretty much any Android phone charger would work. They are all the same except the note 3 and galaxy s5. Nothing special about the note 4 charger

Any micro USB charger will work. The Note 4 doesn't use any type of proprietary charger. It takes the same charger most other phones do (with the exception of Apple who has to be difficult... Err... Different).

OK guys, I went to two different Radio Shacks near me today, the USB 2 micro chargers and cable they had DID NOT FIT into the NOTE 4 USB port, the Note 4 port is smaller than the micro USB connector...so as far as Radio Shack goes, they don't have a charger cable with a Micro USB 2 connector for the Note 4

Do you have any at&t, verizon, t-mobile or sprint stores in your area? They all sell the Note 4. Maybe try Best Buy, too. Make sure you tell the sales person what you are looking for, and they can point you in the right direction.

Sorry you're having this problem.

The boot around the Jack might be too large. Or the charger you tried to use was not a micro USB. The charger port on the Note 4 is a standard micro USB port.

The other guys are right, any standard micro USB charger, even a charger for the Galaxy S2 or S4 will work. You just won't have fast charge support.

It is the same as the LG G3, Galaxy S4, etc... Other than the S5 and Note 3 having 3.0, they are all the same. The micro usb will fit any of these phones.

guys with all due respect, All the ones i was shown and tried on my Note 4 read>>>"Micro USB"..none of them fitted in the whole of the Note 4....but this was Radio Shack....going to the At and T store around here and check them out....

but I physically tried to fit them in to the Note 4....I have no explanation why they were just too big for the Port on the phone....I tried 3 different ones.....wow very frustrating and no phone for the long week end...so far...

Any charger and USB 2 cable will work as long as the charger output is 2A. Older chargers with less than 1A output will have a very difficult time trying to charge the Note 4 and a 1A output will be very slow.
The fastest chargers will be those that have the Adaptive Charging chip incorporated into them. There are a number of 3rd party wall and car chargers that are so constructed. You can find them by searching for "Adaptive Charging phone chargers" on Amazon for example.

ok fixed....found it at the Local AT&T store......they had them and it worked......I don't know what the heck was that about at Radio Shack..but something is not right with their merchandise ....or how it is packaged....what a relief.......got my phone back... : )

Jose, I'm so glad you were able to find a charger. The upside to all this is that, now you have a charger for home, and one for work! Now you can enjoy the rest of your weekend. ;>)

A standard USB charger with a 2A rating normally pushes 1.3-1.5A. The fast chargers with the Note 4 are 3A rated (iirc), I haven't seen measurements or tests yet but my guess is 2.2-2.5A at the most. Qi (wireless) is 1A and normally pushes 625-630mA.

I have been using a standard USB charger at work, one that I have had for a couple of years at least. Nothing special, it charges my Note 4 just fine (no fast charge of course).

You need to check that micro-usb connector again. I have tons of cables with USB 2.0 Micro Type B Plug on one end and a USB 2.0 Type A Plug on the other and can charge from any powered USB Type A Jack on any computer, laptop, car adapter, or USB wall wart. I even have a 6 foot micro USB extension I use all the time.

First mistake, you went to Radio Shack. You need to go somewhere where they know something, like Walmart or the local truck stop.
Don't call it a USB 2.
It is 100% a "micro USB" connector. I have literally used mine on generic "micro USB" cables from Ebay, Amazon, one for a BlackBerry, and auto cables from truck stops.
I have one on each of my bikes, and the dual charger for my intercom that I carry on each bike. That is 6. One in my car and two in my wife's car. that is 9. One at work. That is 10. The one for my wifes Kindle, her S3, one on the night stand. That is 13. Three in a travel bag, and one on a portable battery charger. That is 17. One on a charger on the back porch. I have a few spares, and my work table has some that I have cut up to make chargers for the motorcycles. So I have about 25 of these, they are so generic. Radio Shack carries a dozen different ones, but you aren't going to get any help there. Just stop at a gas station and get a micro USB cable and/or charger.

A search on Radio Shack brought up 80 hits. Here, they even have it in purple. These DO fit in a Note 4.
