This one is for all you VZW reps out there.

I preordered my GSIII on the 6th, but it was using my wifes upgrade. I will activate the phone on my account (we don't have a family plan) when it arrives. Will activating a new phone on my account switch me off of unlimited data? Obviously her account is locked in if I activate it on her number, but she isn't getting my GSIII.

you will be fine so long as you order or preorder before 6/28.

Switching phones doesn't make any difference to unlimited data unless you got it at a subsidized price on or after 6/28. You can switch phones between lines or buy an unsubsidized phone from any source including ebay and maintain unlimited data

As soon as you get a sim card for your line, the $30 unlimited data feature drops off. I believe that you (coming from a droid x) have a 3g data feature, and since you'll be moving to a 4g data feature, it HAS to change.

Now keep in mind, i haven't been a rep for a few months, so I could be wrong.

The comment that since he's moving from 3G to 4G the data feature has to change is incorrect. I pre-ordered and kept by unlimited coming from a Droid.

However, I would have thought you would have needed to transfer the NE2 from your wife to you.

The system does not see the difference between 3G or 4G. Data is data. I could go back to an Iphone from my Maxx and when I go back to my Maxx I would just need a new SIM card as they are one time use only. As a matter of fact my sister just picked up a Stratosphere to replace her Droid Pro and all she did was get a sim card from the Verizon store. No change in her data plan.

When I give my wife the Maxx and move her from her iPhone I will get a sim card from Verizon and drop it in.

Couldn't transfer it as we have different accounts. I used her upgrade to by my DX on release day and she used mine on release day of the Verizon iPhone4. I'm impatient, so I'm using hers again for the GSIII. It's simple to just activate the phone on a different account. Verizon doesn't care, they just care about her account getting extended another 2-years.

I thought it would be no big deal because the the plan doesn't change and going form 3G to 4G shouldn't be an issue.

We shall see.........I'll report back.

Yeah, you can use the SGS3 on your line with no issues. I bought an LG Spectrum off ebay and was able to have a store rep switch service from my old AMOLED DROID Incredible to the new phone. This will be the same for you.

Sent from my LG Spectrum using Tapatalk 2.

I just wanted to get some clarification on this unlimited data stuff and the S3. I just got off the phone with 2 different Verizon reps and they told me I cannot keep unlimited data even if I preorder before the 28th. I was under the impression that I could. What's the deal?
