No it does not. you can upgrade one or all phones on a legacy family share plan and keep the same voice plan. Datawise, if you upgrade using a 2year subsidized pricing, then the line(s) that you upgrade would be forced to a tiered data plan, but the other lines not upgraded using a 2 year subsidized pricing would retain unlimited data

3 Android smartphones on a 700 minute shared plan. Two of the phones are on unlimited data plans. My son's phone is on a 2GB data plan. I upgrade his phone. What happens to his data plan?
Nothing happens to your son's data plan, he stays on a 2 GB plan (unless you increase his data plan yourself). Additionally, your two unlimited lines continue to have unlimited data.
