Sprint Galaxy S8 Unlock Option Yes or No

I am currently with Sprint on a Samsung S8 plus. The phone is full paid for so I have the option to UICC unlock the phone. My question is for those of you with unlocked phones where do you get the updates from ? Are updates coming in a timely manner? I'm not planning to switch carriers so advise would be appreciated.

If you enter the unlock code it will still be considered a sprint phone for OS update purposes.

If you have a carrier phone and unlock it, the updates will still be issued by the original carrier... In your case Sprint.
If you have the US unlocked version... SM-G955U1... Samsung issues the updates.
