Unlock to black screen (wash, rinse, repeat)

Turns out I was right about fiddling with it on the magnet, I was able to reverse whatever happened to get the screen turned back on. I also found that as long as the plates in the phone case are not set towards the bottom of the mobile it won't auto blank the screen. I assume the magnetic docking/NFC/Qi component in the phone is towards the bottom where my plates where when I started having the screen off effect.

I'm beginning to get it again myself on my N9. Not as frequently as before, but it is definitely happening again

BRILLIANT OBSERVATION. I, too, suspect this issue is caused by magnets. I have the official Google-approved 5x folio case, and I think that is what is causing the problem. I have had this issue four times just this afternoon, and each time has required a reboot to get around the problem. Last week I could fool it by going into camera and hitting the back button from there, but that trick isn't working now.

I've removed the case to see if that does anything...will advise.

At the very least I'll be asking Google for a refund for the folio case...
