Unlocked and Rooted - How Do I Flash the 4.0.4 Radios?

I'm not 100% sure.

Meh, it's probably what I had before - .2 They usually don't flash BL's with roms, right? I'll have to check.

Edit: Per implication from an XDA thread, a few peeps said you'd need to flash the .3 BL for the .3 radios, thus leaving me to believe that your BL was whatever you had before flashing a new one lol

The bootloader for 4.0.2 is : primekk15 bootloader

Edit: That bootloader is the same when I was on AOKP Milestone 3

The bootloader for 4.0.4 is : PRIMELA03 bootloader

Correct ,usually dont

Thanks greatly.

If you were to flash a new rom, say AOKP Build 22, would you install the 4.0.2 radios/BL, then flash the rom/etc., or flash the rom as normal with the 4.0.4 BL/radios?

Appears as though the bootloader is separate from the radios anyway.

There are some Radio zip files that include the bootloader and some that do not .
Usually when a zip includes the bootloader it has "btldr" some where in the zip name

ex; 402_404_rdo4_btldr.zip is a zip going from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 that would include the bootloader 4.0.4 radio and 4.0.4 bootloader.

If you open that zip you would see a file called bootloader.img which is the bootloader flash image.

I definitely have the .4 bootloader; I just don't want that to conflict with future roms or anything. Everything I've seen, at least from AOKP, indicates it's running off a .2 BL; although, I will say, there are no problems at all.

Should be able to flash the Rom as normal from what I have read,so I have no personal experience with that .You would stay on the 4.0.4 radio/boot of course
I havent yet flashed the 4.0.4 radio/bootloader tho.

If in doubt tho you could flash back to the 4.0.2 radio/bootloader and reboot then flash the Rom,reboot again then reflash the 4.0.4 radio/bootloader

Yeah. I'm actually more worried about franco's kernel than anything TBH lol

I just flashed the .3 radios from here without the .3 bootloader:

They installed:

So here's what I did/doing:

1) Fastboot flash back to the 4.0.2 radios (radios only, no bootloader) - Currently on AOKP Milestone 3

2) Reboot phone, run that setup for a bit and see how my connection/speeds are

3) Fastboot flash 4.0.4 radios (radios only, no bootloader)

4) Check for any improvements

Sounds good, keep us posted.

Step 2 seems to be a commonly skipped step for a lot of those w/ problems.

Yup, I saw a post on XDA that says the same. I'm just going to keep the radios/loader as is :D.

Well, a couple hours back on the 4.0.2 radios and everything is cool. Good speed, no loss of data. Like the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." So for now, I think I'll just leave the radios alone.

I tried all 3 - 4.0.2, 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 - today and I felt that all gave me the same performance. I am sticking with 4.0.2 for now until the official OTA update comes.

the good thing about android is you can fix what isn't broken. Lol. I gotcha though.
