Unlocked carrier free option? Rooting?

Any mention if there will be a carrier unlocked version available?

Never had an LG smartphone before, how are they with rooting?

There's the h815, specs found here,
Carrier unlocked and bloatware free. It will take some time for the folks over at XDA to root.

It should work on AT&T and I'm not sure about T-Mobile USA.

I've never bought an unlocked phone, where would you buy it from? I'm looking at just buying one outright anyway, do they normally cost more? And where would the updates come from? Direct from LG?

The h815 is the unlocked international version from what I've read. It should work with US GSM carriers.

Models
F500K/L/S -> Korean
H815 - H818 -> International
H810 -> AT&T
H811 -> T-Mobile USA
LS991 -> Sprint
US991 -> US Cellular
VS999 -> Verizon

Am I correct, that this international model - the H815 - will be the MOST likely to be able to be rooted and also would likely come with or be able to have its boot loader unlocked? The reason that I ask is because I have an AT&T Note 4 at this time and have not been able to root / ROM and would like to avoid that this time!

If you are worried about rooting your device on att I suggest waiting till the phone has been out for a while and see if there is a exploit for it. It will take some time for the developers to get root different roms themes for it
