Unlocked LG G4 (H815 International Version) vs One Purchased Here In The USA

The T Mobile version is great. Although, I will say I had to disable and uninstall a bunch of bloatware to get it to run smooth. I think the international version would be the way to go.

As much as I love my bloat free H815, my money would go to a warrantied version. At&t in your case

Mine is a USA h815 but the imei is UK and LG USA said they will not warranty it.

Do you still have the box your device came in? I'm curious to see if it says USA on the side of it like mine?! I'm wondering if these devices were UK models that were sent to us from LG? You did get yours from AC/LG right?!? lol

Yes it does say USA, yes from AC ;)

There is no USA h815

Correct, i meant the box says USA on it, but its the EUR version IMEI

AHh so we got shafted with warranty......still can't complain since it was given to us for review! :)

Exactly! I'm a lucky guy for that and having a non issue G4!!!

You could pick up a square trade warranty

Nope. i called 3 different times to get a different rep to sell me a warranty but as i was told by all, NO RECEIPT, NO WARRANTY lol

Well, at least mine is working great! If and when I have a problem that requires fixing, I'll gladly send it to LG for repair for a price. If I can't do that then my backup phone kicks in and I start looking for another new device.

Seems like there's rarely a hardware failure on a phone that's not immediately apparent when first set up. So hopefully you just don't drop and damage it 😁

If I do drop it though, I have a solidly built great quality dual layered all black stealth dope kick *** my case is better than your thin one case protecting it. Accidents happen and I love having peace of mind!

Didn't see a vote button, but if you can get the International Unlocked version, get it. It works great on AT&T and runs smoother than the carrier bloatware version. (Verizon and Sprint users disregard this post as the International Unlocked Version will not work with your carrier.)

Agreed!

Yea, if I end up getting a g4, this is what I'll do.

Agreed on both accounts!

How do I determine the region for my H815? I tried to unlock on the LG dev site and they would not do it, so it's obviously not UK.
Is there a root that doesn't require boot unlock?

I have a Sprint LG G4 and while it works pretty well here in the US, I had it unlocked while traveling in Europe and that is when the cripple showed. No LTE in Europe, had to mess around with settings in order to get data to work and for some reason I couldn't receive calls from others.
