I'm new to AT&T and like to take advantage of the ability to pretty much bring any phone I want to their network. Right now I'm using a Nexus 5 but I'm looking pretty hard at the S5. Does anyone know if there's going to be an unlocked version that would work on AT&T? Something that may get updates outside of having to deal with carriers? After many years on Verizon I'd hate to miss out on some of the freedom that I get with AT&T. Thanks!

If you're wanting faster updates then you should probably wait for the Google Phone edition of the s5. They've done gpe on previous Sammy phones and no reason they won't do the same worth the s5. I'm guessing a month or more after the initial launch.

I've thought about that, too. Hopefully they release a black one this year. I have some weird hatred of white phones.

Has anyone heard of a version of the S5 that works on AT&T but gets updates directly from Samsung? Kind of like the developer edition or unlocked version of the HTC One M8?
