If you're like me, you've been pulling your hair out with frustration and anger because we can't use fingerprint unlock on OUR phone when we use a third-party screen lock app. The only way to unlock using biometrics (fingerprint, iris, face) is to lock and unlock using (more like ABUSING) the power button.

I sent Samsung an angry e-mail today, and to my surprise, received a quick reply, and not the automated robot canned reply we're all used to getting. This was an actual, helpful reply. Samsung stated they agree we should be able to use our phones as we see fit, at least as this particular issue is concerned, and told me that the problem is that the DEVELOPERS have failed to ensure their screen lock apps work with the fingerprint scanner (and the other methods), and it they had no recommendations of any particular apps, they advised me to search for one that DOES support biometrics.

I didn't search before because I thought it was a Samsung issue, but I found a screen lock app that is full of features and customization options, and it has a free version as well as an ad-free, extra feature paid version. It's called 'Hi Locker', I got the pro version for $1.99 (on sale right now, not sure of regular price but can't be too much more), and it works beautifully.

Hope this helped someone, cuz I know this has been driving ME nuts for months since getting my Note 8. Works on any device that uses biometrics to unlock. Enjoy.

The app you mention is nice, but you can't unlock you phone with your Iris or face. I don't see a purpose in using the app if these 2 unlock features don't work.

Why would you want to use your Iris or face when you can just tap the fingerprint sensor? Which I might add works in ANY lighting condition. Plus, I was addressing the issue of unlocking with fingerprint anyway.

if the app works for you, great. I was only pointing out it the lack of support the app has for the other features of the phone.
