Unlocking the Thrive

Greets,

I'm a CDMA guy, (Big red), but I like the specs of this phone .Vs Price, and so I would like to buy some for my family abroad.
Now, being a GSM phone I believe it can be unlocked just like any other Optimus T. Does AT&T provide it? I know that with the T you need to enter the 2945#*509# sequence and enter your unlock code with a non-T-Mobile SIM in the device. And so once unlocked it can be used with any SIM any carrier

Has anyone tried it to work? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

yes it can be unlocked. I got it done for abt 10$. Piece of cake. Just give the IMEI number and they will send the unlock code. Of course not through the carriers. But someone on the "gray market"

directions can be found here: AT&T Unlock LG Thrive p506: How to unlock LG Thrive p506 from Cingular At&t to any Network i've seen some on ebay for around $4 not sure if i can post a link, but just search "Unlock Code for LG Thrive" and it will show you a few sellers.

And yes, it came with instructions, and it was easy as cake.
