Unlocking Via NFC

I've been trying to find a way to use the NFC in my Gear S2 to unlock my Galaxy S4. I've tried the bluetooth, but the long range makes it pretty useless.

When trying to use Android Smart Unlock, when it asks me to tap the nfc key to it, it fails to recognize my Gear S2 (yes, NFC is turned on in the settings on both devices). Any ideas?

On a somewhat related note, why is Samsung Pay not available for the Galaxy S4?

Galaxy S4 is pretty old, they didn't buy Loop Pay or whoever it was until well after that I believe. So that technology didn't get into Samsung phones until the S6 or so.

I have the bluetooth smart unlock on my S2 Classic and S7 Edge combo, but it almost never works. luckily the finger print unlock is pretty quick

Great. I guess I'm just going to have to manually do both, since I'm stubbornly waiting for the note 6 to come out.

i was waiting for the Note 6, the S7 wasn't even on my radar, until I saw the 5.5 inch screen and 3600 mah battery. I love it, but will most likely bail for the Note 6 when that comes out
