AT&T Galaxy S8 Unlocking w ATT imei issue

I bought phone today att version full price. Went home and w wifi on tried to go to att unlock page to request unlocking. Registered as not att customer but said IMEI not recognized as att customer. I then registered as att w my phone number but still said IMEI does not belong to att member.

Next put some card for Cricket and did the same two registered as att customer and as non att customer but either way failed to recognized IMEI to continue process.

Is the phone too new to be in their system?

Do I need to wait 24 hours while cricket Sim in phone to have system recognize phone as in service to do request?

Does the request not work till after 14 day remorse period?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I know it works on cricket locked to att but I like my phone unlocked in case next month or in future I want to jumpy to T-Mobile or any T-Mobile prepaid carrier.

after 15years with sprint I'm enjoying Cricket and service seems better too

At&t will need to send a unlock code to your phone for it to register that way and work with any Sim

I had the same issue yesterday and had to call 611 to get the request submitted around the auto web validation checks which is not yet loaded for the s8s

Are you talking 611 for cricket or att? Using now cricket Sim which all services call, text, data working.

Trying to unlock my iPhone 7 plus with them now. Submitted the request for it last night and they denied it saying that the phone has to be active for 6 months. I've had the phone since 2 days after it released, last September. I called them today and asked about it, remembering that I had the phone replaced through warranty last January. That changed the imei number. The lady comes back and tells me there's nothing that she can do because the imei number has to be active for 6 months. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she out me on hold. Few minutes later she comes back saying she opened a case and they should be able to do it. I'm just like really your going to give me a hard time because of that? I've had the phone for over 6 months, active at that, just had to have it swapped out. We shall see what happens.

Well I got an email today from my case that looks like the S8+ is unlocked but it is referencing to an iPad 9.7 pro????? When I called them back they stood their ground on phone has to be activated and in service w att for 6 months before unlocking. I told them it won't be activated on network since I use in cricket, i already paid in full and demand to have it unlocked as the att device unlocked page does not recognize my imei as att phone.

Well guess what, I am returning the phone and def not using or recommending att for these shenanigans. Will have to wait till unlock model comes out.

Little update for you on my situation, if you care. Got the email from att today. They unlocked my phone. Although can't do anything to verify it as I already sold the phone. Lol

Yep that's normal procedure for unlocking
If your installing a new Sim different carrier most likely you will need to reset network settings for LTE to work

Not sure what you mean. I am getting LTE and everything works flawlessly w cricket. I just want it unlocked as I switch prepaid networks several times a year based of offer they have at that time. The attack SIM card that came w phone has not been installed or activated. It is sitting i n the box. I just put cricket SIM card, it auto updated and started to work.
