Unread message notification

Go to Settings > Application Manager > All applications (on the top). Locate the "BadgeProvider" app, once in there select "clear data" and reboot

I still have an unread message icon with the number 1. It's driving me insane. I've cleared message data and still nothing. Stock app. Help!

Go to setting's then go to applications....then go to application manager find your messaging app hit disable then enable.....then put the app back on the home screen...worked for me! Good luck!

My Android came with 2 stock messaging apps(message+ & messenger) I had to change my messaging app to message+, open it up & delete the new messages within message+. Then I changed me messaging app back to the one I had been using since the beginning & it worked. No more phantom notification.

just download new true caller (or just update if already installed) which comes with massanger... then open that massenger then on right top corner click on the option mark all as read... And u done it...

If your'e using the most up to date os version, you can just long press the app and there is an option to "clear badge number". click that to get rid of any notification number on any app. Hope that helps!

I have had this for about a week now, very frustrating, have found a solution: press and hold your finger on the Facebook icon and a menu will pop up with Clear Badge on it press this and hey Presto it's gone, happy days.

On Motorola Android (Verizon), launch Messages+, set it as your default SMS app. The unread message should appear.

I had same problem with 1 unread message.
I installed SMA &MMS Search and Delete application. This app helped to find out the Unread message.
