Unreadable SIM Card

Since I got the update to 4.1.1 my phone randomly says my mobile connection is not available due to unreadable sim card. It prompts me to restart my device and works fine for a while. This has happened 5 or 6 times since I got the update on Monday night 9-24-12. Anyone else having this problem? Got any solutions? This forum has been much more helpful than Verizon's tech support in the past. Please help, I don't want VZW to send me a new phone (that seems to be their only solution to tech problems).

I had that problem a while back with some of the custom roms. The best solution that seemed to work was taking out the sim card and putting it back in. I think I also blew into the sim card slot a little, to relive the ol' NES days.

So did that happen after you got the update? Because that is something that just started almost immediately after I got 4.1
