Unresponsive Samsung Note 5 keys

Strangely, my note 5 has all keys in the lower column not responding unless I use a the s-pen. Except for keys in the lower column which includes the 'enter' key, all other keys are functioning alright. What immediate actions can I take to activate them such that they respond to both my fingers and s-pen?

Welcome to Android Central! Does the screen respond to any finger touch in that area? Use a touch test app from the Play Store to test it out. If the screen isn't registering touches there, then it's either due to a screen protector (take it off if present), or due to a digitizer fault. The S Pen will still work, since it uses a different technology to detect taps.
