unrevoked 3 will not recognize my phone

i am trying to use unrevoked3 to root my evo and installed the hboot drivers correctly, when i open up unrevoked3 nothing happens it just sits there looking for my phone, usb debugging is on and htc sync is not installed.....any insight on what im doing wrong.....and yes i have researched the topic and found nothing

I used the unrevoked forever method in the stickies and it worked for me... Try that?

Which Hboot do you have?
I couldnt do unrevoked with my GF's due to newer hboot so I had to do the long way.

i got it i had to update the drivers while it was the phone was on and it was in usb debugging mode....as soon as i did that it worked.....i <3 android central

i downloaded the drivers from the unrevoked3 site....did exactly what they said and one extra step and it worked....backing up using clockworkmod as we speak
