unrevoked root Radio problems

Im rooted with Unrevoked 3 and for some reason my "3g" icon and data usage just stops works. Restart the phone and it works fine. I dont have a custom ROM or Kernal. wondering what i should do

I was having this problem also when it would (or was supposed to) transition from wifi back to 3G but wouldn't without a reboot (power off/power on). Sent an email to HTC about it and they recommend doing a hard reset. Boot into the recovery then go to "clear storage" and do it.

BE ADVISED, i had to reinstall all apps email accounts etc. and lost all app data doing this but it seems to have worked...haven't had the problem since and that was 2 weeks ago.

p.s. i'm also rooted via unrevoked running stock 2.2 and no fancy stuff.

Well the more Ive played with i noticed that, everytime i went to wifi it shut off the 3g and it wouldnt come back.
Im glad there's a fix, but do you think if i revert to a backup after doing this, it would continue with the problem. I just have a bunch of custom settings that I would hate to have to set up again

Good question. The reset is basically like you just got it out of the box for the first time again with re-initialzing it, re-registering it to the VZ network and so on.

I'm not the most tech savy guy but I would think a restore to a back up would work. Save the backup to your SD card since its the only thing not erased by the reset but be prepared to do it by hand.

I physically wrote down where all my widgets and crap went so that after i wouldn't have to go "hmm, now what widgets were on screen #2 again". Good luck.

I'm rooted but running the stock 2.2...i think the OP was too but don't quote me on that.

The OP; why not go s-off, and flash a newer radio and see if your problem goes away?

EDIT: NM, it's through HBOOT. I'm gonna try this, I'll report back. 3 days without data is ridiculous! I"m running out of options.
