I know this was discussed several weeks ago but Im wondering if anyones feelings on this have changed.....

Im running the latest version of Ultimate Droid on my droid. Is there any reason I should un-root and manually install the official 2.1 update or would that just be redundant?

Im not very educated when it comes to rooting my phone since I just did this a short time ago and Im wondering if just sticking with my rooted droid as is is going to screw me some where in the long run when it comes to future updates????

I probably should have never rooted my phone in the first place but im just trying to get in the know when it comes to all of this droid stuff lol.

Any advice on what I should do? Should I unroot and install the 2.1 update and if so what would be the benefit in doing that?

Who knows if you don't want or need root flash it and theory no need to in-root just change it to update.zip and install. If you want root wait

You will not gain any features of the new update if you are already running the current version of UD. Wait a day or two, and Blackdroid will probably put out another release with the radio baseband update, and you will be all set, and still have root.

It's already out their us nothing that you really need I just flashed the baseband update and can tell no difference

You can also find it on the ROM Manager App, both for Bugless Beast and CyanogenMod.
