Unroot Required to Update to Stock Froyo?

AT&T has announced today via their FaceBook page that Froyo for the Captivate is being released tomorrow.

I think I know I will have to, but do I need to unroot in order to be able to get the official update from AT&T/Samsung?

Probably not, but you can't have a custom rom, you need to revert to stock.

No, if you are using stock 2.1. However, once you flashed froyo-you will lose your root access.
