Unwarranted 'Screenshots'

I'm sure there's no comparison at all, I'm just easily pleased ha. I don't think I'd like to be carrying a phone and a camera either come to think of it, except for occassions like a concert or when I go camping etc

Yes, and thank you for reminding me. I just wanted to eliminate the possibility of it being because of the swipe feature, but now that it's been turned off and it's still happening I will now try safe mode. I shall report back!

I still doubt this represents unwanted screenshots. I keep thinking that it's some part of the interface that you might be intermittently triggering that is slightly minimizing the screen (which is why I was initially asking about the Overview). I wish I could actually see it happening ...

On the Note10, what happens if you do a pinch gesture on the homescreen -- do things minimize somewhat to give you homescreen options? Or maybe the phone is misinterpreting your swiping gestures sometimes to be long-presses (which can also bring up the homescreen options)?

No it's not that, it happens when I'm just reading something, or playing a game of solitaire. I always use the pen and rarely swipe at all if ever.

You got me thinking , since you use the pen , do you think you accidentally touched the button on the pen to trigger a screenshot?

Do you have a screen protector on? Sometimes that can lead to phantom touches, which might trigger one of the things we've discussed above.

No definitely not, the pen doesn't have that feature anyway and I'd be able to tell if I'd pressed it. I don't even have to be using the pen for it to happen, it can happen when I'm just reading. Oh my goodness, it just did it again as I was typing! It really is just very random, I have no explanation for it at all.

It has whatever was on it when I bought it, that's if there is anything on it? I can't tell, but I think there is one on.

I'm thinking factory reset if you really want to start fresh ... only install important apps once you see how it behaves ...

It has that feature to go into camera holding the button and take a selfie

Maybe it is set up that way to confuse people - just a thought. That is why it is called malware and not goodware - ;)
Why would malware be set up to "confuse" people rather than just being invisible and unsuspected while it does its work?

It seems this isn't very rare... Google finished the search for me, which is usually a strong indication that this isn't a new topic.

I found this 5 minute video with some tips, nothing ground breaking but if you haven't tried any of these things... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRin-5FGW0o

It's also appeared here on AC before... https://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/977978-note-10-plus-screen-flickers.html

I found some threads that didn't have answers, but I also came across some for the S10. Yes I know it isn't the Note 10 but they are both Samsung so... Anyway there's nothing new mentioned in them that isn't mentioned in the first link's video or hasn't been mentioned in this thread but just for reference... https://www.android.gs/how-to-fix-the-screen-flickering-issue-on-samsung-galaxy-s10-plus

Yes, I noticed that many people have had this happen too. I've seen many threads on Reddit for example with people saying the same as me. Definitely something suspect.
