Update from iPhone Users who switched

Utterly redundant post. I am fully aware of this, having used iphones since the inception. Anyway i was merely pointing out imessage only dominates in the US market and everywhere else its imessage, not what its limitations are.

I just explained to everyone WHY people use it rather than WhatsApp. Most people in other countries use WhatsApp, Line, and WeChat etc... because those countries charge for text messages. Otherwise, as a messaging service, they are definitely inferior to iMessage/SMS because they will fail when servers go down and/or no they have no Data connection by nature of their reliability.

Whether this post was useful to YOU or not is utterly redundant. I simply helped people understand why the US uses iMessage and Text Messages. US Carriers don't charge for Texts and iMessages usually cost very little data.

Since this thread consists of people familial with both Apple and Android. I have never owned an Android phone but I am interested in trying; however, I am dependent on the Mac ecosystem especially contacts and calendar native apps on OS 10. How easy/difficult is it to have these apps sync with the corresponding apps on Android devices? Can we do it through iCloud? I am not interested in switching to the Google equivalents on the desktop. Thank you for your help.

And comically, most google apps run better on iOS than they do android.

I currently have a iPhone 6S+, Nexus 6P, and am using a S7 Edge.

I do no understand why some people make this claim. Google apps do not run better on iOS than they do on Android. If you think that they do, it's only because in most cases, what is running is a stripped down version on iOS (in comparison to it's Android counterpart).

For example, in the Calendar app, the iOS version does not have a month view. The Android version does. iOS just recently got a version of Keep. And the iOS version of Inbox won't let you delete emails from the notification bar like it's Android counterpart will.

There are some features that are exclusive to Android that are not on iOS in some google apps.

I second this... The Google apps when I used an iPhone for awhile (to test it out) ran just as good as they do on my Android phones. I am not seeing a difference.

I'm about to go from a 6s plus to an S7. I have tried switching before but can't stay away from iPhone for more than a month. I'd like to stay away for a year just to really give it a good amount of time, but for now I'll commit to a month and keep my iPhone in a drawer. I love the smaller phone with awesome specs that an S7 has to offer, but missing out on iMessage and specifically group texts in iMessage once I've switched is a pain in the a**. Also, I miss photo sharing with iPhone people and family in an easy fashion. I love Google Now and Ok Google beats Siri any day. I also love the QHD display on the S7 and the notifications. Any way around that and the group text issue? I'm hoping after a month I can stay with Android. I think the S7 has the potential to keep me there.

Same boat. Everyone in my family including grandparents use an iPhone. It's tough to get my parents to use the correct group text message, let alone my 95 year old grandma!

do it.. i just did it a few days ago and this is by far the best phone i'd ever have. throw that apple crap into the water where it belongs. there is NO comparison.. want to put music on your phone? Drag and drop. done. leave.

iphone? Synching....install i tunes... download a tutorial.... take 6 months.. slow computer down..

screw that.

Honestly do it !! I've been a die-hard Apple fan for a long time now. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is a great phone. If you want something powerful and gorgeous get the S7 Edge. In my opinion so many people have iPhones because it's a status. People want iPhones because other people have iPhones. I made the switch to android and I don't regret it. Get the iPhone if you wanna blend in with the crowd lol. Jk. But really, the GS7E is a really great phone.

I love both, but until Apple makes a tiny bezel, waterproof, removable storage, wireless charging, low light camera, customizable theme edition- I'm Droid.

I haven't had the opportunity to try out the bigger iPhone's but I can tell you that the reason I left Apple was because of their tiny tiny keyboards and no SD Card slots.

I have huge fingers and pressing down 5 letters while trying to text someone was the most infuriating thing I've ever done. And to do it constantly.

Picked up a Nexus with swype and never looked back.

It's funny now that I think about it.

The stock Apple keyboard still sucks on the 6+ models. My wife has one, and I can't stand using it. I switched my daughter's 6s keyboard to the MS word flow keyboard, and it is so much better. I am sure the experience will be terrible on the SE regardless of keyboard.

Been switching between the two devices. I prefer the iPhone 6S Plus for the overall more polished experience. But the S7e is definitely the best Android device I've ever used. Performance has been fantastic - absolutely no lag whatsoever. But I've had some stability issues (reboots) on the S7e.

the new keyboard on iphone x is horrible. it doesnt utilize the whole screen. it doesnt make sense their software is behind the 8 ball and its android is much much better today.
