After having a problem with 4.4.1, which was fixed with 4.4.2, I decided to stop risking further updates. For quite some time, i have had the notification icon that 4.4.4 is available for download, but I decided to stick with 4.4.2, which works fine. Just curious, though, I've never received the notification that 5.0 Lollipop is available for download. Am I just at the backside of the rollout or would I need to download 4.4.4 before getting a notification that further updates are availble?

I've seen the mixed reviews of Lollipop so probably won't download it for now, but just curious why I'm not getting the notification.

Thanks,

Yes you would need to be updated to 4.4.4 before you would receive the OTA notification to update to Android 5.0

The only other option you would have is if your bootloader was unlocked and you manually flashed Android 5.0 using the the Google provided factory images.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still undecided about whether to take the update, getting tempted.
