A welcomed update, but as others have pointed out... this is not quite the perfected AOD of the Note 7. Not quite sure why they couldn't just port the whole thing over. It's the least they could do...

Ah, that explains it. I thought it just wasn't working. Used to see song info on the AOD when using Google Play Music. Bummer. Sigh, really miss my Note 7.

I see song info on the AOD with Spotify and Google Play Music. Still better than it was prior. Looks like more updates will be coming but a welcome update.

I agree it is the least they can do but I bet it doesn't happen you will have to buy the s8 if u want that feature

Third party notifications, you mean? That would be a big mistake. It should have been in the S7 version to begin with. A major ommission in AOD.

Since they bothered to do an update for AOD, why not just make it like on the Note? I can't imagine that the two phones are that much different from a programming perspective. As has been said, they are probably waiting to push that with the S8. Man, it really sucks that the Note 7 had all those issues and has to be scrapped. That is just insane! The sure messed up big time. I can't believe they didn't figure the exploding battery issue before mass production.

Well if they don't give it to the s7 edge i think it will be a right **** take from Samsung when we have stayed loyal and took the s7 edge it should get grace ui and aod screen the note 7 had if Samsung don't do it and say u have to buy the s8 if u want them features then that will show what they think of there customers

I suggest each and every one of you CALL Samsung and complain. Seriously. If you really want Samsung to provide AOD features similar to that of the N7, then LET THEM KNOW your frustration with the current AOD. At the moment, I would bet that Samsung is in such utter turmoil over the N7 fiasco that they are running around like chickens with their proverbial heads cut off, trying to extricate themselves from this huge mess.

Am I the only one that doesn't have this new version? I have an unlocked s7 edge on T-mobile. Did an update but still has the old AOD

Edit: Oh. Duh. Needed to update AOD separately.

Yea, I have no idea why its like that. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't seen articles on it. Not that the update seems to do anything useful for me with the AOD.
