S voice is just an app in your app drawer. Once you find it, either make a shortcut to your home screen, or, from within the app, hit the menu button to go to the settings to reactivate the double press the home button function to bring it up, in case you disabled it.

It actually wasn't even in my app drawer! I ended up going through my applications manager and re-enabling it and its now displayed in the app drawer. Disabling it makes the icon disappear from the app drawer apparently.

I strongly suggest that you take the necessary steps to restore to stock, apply the update, and reroot if necessary. The LG8 update is especially important to someone in an area like Houston, which is an early LTE rollout market. Devices without the update will have a hard time getting and keeping an LTE connection.

I will end up doing that, I just haven't had time to research how to do it without messing my phone up. All I had to do for the LG2 update was flash the update zip file and flash the team-recovery zip. I haven't seen that type of process for the LG8 update yet, so I guess I will have to unroot and reroot via the Odin process again.
