Updated 31 Oct.. Nexus 5.... So finally arrived.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

I don't know a lot of people want that 3000mah battery (including me). I do think it's a long shot though.

Don't get me wrong. Its a good concept but for the nexus 5 , its more of a luxury and it would defeat the purpose of being a low cost but powerful phone.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

3000 mah seems like a bit of an overkill for the nexus 5.

Big pretty IPS screen with almost 2.1 million pixels and an S800 :D If we want to see more than 20-30 hours of battery life or a very heavy use 15-20, 3K might be the number. We'll have to see how the software works out with Qualcomm's baby, but it seems to be about the right number in the G2 which isn't much bigger and has the same number of pixels.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Not having a FCC leak of a Nexus 5 with a 3000mah battery does inspire much confidence that such a device even exists. If I pass on Nexus 5 then hopefully HTC's next flagship(doubtful) or S5(hopeful) will have a 3000 mah battery. I don't think I can last any longer on my S3.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Moto X goes past a full day witha much smaller battery, assuming the 3k battery is real that should easily be 36-48 hours with it's processor unless that screen is too much of a drain... but LG did great on their G2, so this should see better life than that. If the 3k doesn't happen I wouldn't expect more than 20-30 hours out of it with normal techy use. All guestimates until I play with it.

my note 2 doesn't get 48hrs so i doubt the nexus 5 will.

If you want a 3000mah battery why wait for a new HTC or the S5? Get the G2, best camera on a phone right now, awesome screen, and the UI is much better than Touch wiz!

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

So I guess my question is, does Google present all these "leaks" on their own/allow them to happen or are they really this bad at keeping their new device under wraps until its launch? We pretty much already know almost everything about the phone. Do they do it to create buzz or can they just not contain the leaks? Anyone?

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

I'm on Verizon :(

HOLD THE FAITH!!!!!!!

................................................... I feel your pain :( .................................... but there's still a chance!!!

No...there really isn't. It's not gonna happen. You probably have a better chance of winning the Powerball.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...

I prefer

Those are all good devices, but there are a lot of reason why folks want a Nexus specifically. I currently own an S4 and love it, but I've already decided my next phone will be a Nexus, even if that means leaving Verizon for good.

So... uh... it only lasted for a day??? WTF! What's the dealio?

That page was never meant to go live at this time...have patience, it will be back.

There's a good possibility that they do stuff like this intentionally to create a buzz. Think about it, it's much cheaper to leak just enough info to get folks talking and curious about the device than to spend a ton of money on advertising. The other possibility is that with so many people working on it (especially this close to launch), it's simply impossible to keep every detail under wraps. It's probably a little bit of both.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Coming from an iPhone 4S this will be a welcome change.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Just waiting for official specs!

And all the inevitable complaints about how it's not crafted to perfection by the hands of the Google Gods (i.e. no SD card slot WTF; non-removable battery sucks!!l; why are the speakers not on the front this is BS!!; No 65GB option? FU Google!!! Where is the white option? This is garbage! etc etc).

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

There's no evidence to suggest there's going to be a 3000mAh version. I don't know why people keep saying this...

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

WTF are you guys doing that requires a battery that can last 48 hours?? Go to sleep, charge when sleeping. Are you really a hardcore phone gamer? You really need to stream multiple 1080p movies every day? I had Play Music running most of the work day on my X yesterday, plus looking up DIY tips after work for a while and the battery still lasted me 14 hours.

Precisely. Nobody is ever happy, not sure why they have to constantly complain about the same thing. There are 2 million different phones out right now, just find the one that fits instead of ******** about the Nexus not being built exclusively for you.

I'm just waiting for the official size of the phone. If they fit that 5" screen into a body smaller than the Xperia ZL, I call it a success.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

my note 2 doesn't get 48hrs so i doubt the nexus 5 will.

But the Note 2 has a bigger screen and a less battery-efficient processor. Plus all the different things running in TouchWiz may also add to the battery drain.

No kidding!

The SD card is something Google has gone on record about...it's not going to happen.

The removable battery seems to also be a feature that Nexus devices simply don't have.

There probably will be a white version, but if it's not available at launch day, folks will complain regardless

A 64GB option is something I think they should have...I actually understand why Google prefers to not support SD cards, but if that's the way they want to go, they really should have larger capacity options. None the less, I imagine the only options will be 16 and 32GB.

To add to your list, there will be the lack of a Verizon model that a lot of folks will complain about. Look folks, Google tried to work with Verizon, and it was a failure (the GNex was a decent device, but the handling of updates has been a disaster). Unless Verizon allows Google to update the device directly, as they do with Apple and their iPhone, no Nexus device will come to Verizon. There has been no hint or indication that this Nexus 5 has support for Verizon networks. If you have to blame someone for this, blame Verizon...not Google.

We already know the official size, based on the FCC filing. It will have a 5" screen in a body slightly smaller than that of the Nexus 4.

Ingress.

Reduced my Nexus 4's battery to 28% in less than 3 hours.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

I just hope that the battery last longer than the nexus 4. This thing has about the worst battery life I've seen in a phone recently. Love the phone but the battery sucks. I wake up at 6 and would like to be able to use my phone till about 11 or 12 at night before having to charge my phone.
