Upgrade Backup Question

Hi all. Before I upgrade my tab to ICS, do I need to backup my system settings, app settings and bookmarks or is that part of what gets synced automatically on my Google account? I already have a copy of all of my docs and pics so I don't need to worry about that.

If you are talkig about the official ICS upgrade from Samsung or your Network provider then I would say no you don't, however if you are flashing a custom ROM then yes you do

It's the official upgrade from Verizon. I would LOVE to learn about flashing custom ROMs onto my tab, like JB. I know the info is out there, I just haven't haven't focused on it. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Its very simple, as long as you don't rush and ensure you follow each step to the letter. Took me about 20 minutes to root and then another 15 to flash a ROM the first time I did it, now I can flash a ROM in about 10 minutes including boot up time.

Take a look at this link for the best guide I found to rooting, there are also lots of ROMS there too
