Upgrade Date Alignment With Contract End - Has Anyone Tried Asking For Their Date Not To Be Aligned?

Just wondering if anyone has tried asking Verizon not to align their upgrade date with their contract end date. I would think you would need to speak to the loyalty department and tell them you are considering moving to ATT before anyone would even consider it.
