Upgrade From Evo 3d

I preordered from Best Buy yesterday morning. I called Sprint last night and they said that you are allowed to upgrade two weeks early. June 1st is my upgrade date so I can get the phone as early as May 18th. Best buy told me I would actually need to get Sprint to move my upgrade date to May 18th. I called Sprint again and asked that they move my my date to the 18th so I can get it for $199 at Best Buy. They said that they would be happy to. They also said that my upgrade date won't actually change on their system until the morning of the 18th. Hopefully they are right.... But no matter, Best Buy said they will make sure I get the upgrade price...

Yeah thats what they told me too. The guy even gave me his number and said he would call me that morning and let me know I can proceed with the purchase

Well good on you. They just said $165 and I thought that was the best I could get. Either way, Evo 4G LTE here I come!!

Apparently there are several factors, the date isn't the only one. Depends how long you've been a customer, how many lines you have and probably several other things.

I heard you had to be with them for sometime, within a year of an upgrade, your account in good standing of course and not a regular complainer.

I moved off of my family's plan onto my own the launch day of the EVO 3D. My number stayed the same, but every other aspect of my account was reset so I doubt they stored my line's prior 8yr history with them.

Anyways, I just called, my upgrade date was April 2013 like anyone else that got the EVO3D on launch, I have 1 line, been with them for less than a year (on this account, like I said) and they told me $115 to upgrade. I took it, and pre-ordered my EVO LTE right away!

Just got off the phone with Sprint, and they moved my upgrade date up from June to May 18th.

Gotta admit, I'm going to miss the "gimmicky" 3D on the Evo 3D. It was always an easy way to wow my coworkers and friends. ;)

I'm actually going to keep my EVO 3D for backup since I removed the insurance off my line. The EVO3D forum is still going strong as far as development and ICS is just going to keep it alive. I love flashing new ROMS so until the EVO 4G LTE get's full root and have available Roms to flash, my EVO 3D will be there to satisfy my flashing needs.

Selling it for $90.00 to Sprint is not worth it to me when the phone is still running great and only a year old. Cant wait for this May 18 delivery...:)

I am so ticked. My upgrade is in July 2012. So after reading this thread, I thought I'd get it moved up. The lady quoted me 55.00 for Evo 4g LTE then she said "Oh wait, the only problem is the nearest store that is participating in the buy up plan is in Nashville." I'm in Chattanooga so I say to her "What does this mean for me?" She went on to say that only certain stores are participating in the buyup program and that if you are not by one of those select stores then you can't get the early upgrade. She said that a lot of stores offered the "early upgrade" buyup program b/c they were not getting business. I told the rep I realized she was doing her job and held no ill will towards her but I asked for a supervisor--the supervisor said the same thing. So I said you mean to tell me that for SOME customers you are going to allow the buy-up program--even if their upgrade is next year but for those of us who are only two months away I can't get it? It's not fair to customer?s period. We are all paying customers and should have the same options across the board. I think it is a total cluster F on their part to allow some stores to do it and others not. I am going to email customer care and if I get the same response who knows what I might do? I don't like to "threaten" to cancel but I have been a loyal customer for 11 years now. This is not right. Anyone else experience this issue? I am fumming.

I was told that they would only move it up the two weeks if you have had your current phone for at least a year. Since you are upgrading from a 3D, that can't be the case. Was there any discussion about this when you called?

I would just try calling again. I didn't hear anything about that. I didn't even mention where I was going to buy my phone.

I didn't either. I just told her I wanted to know if I could move my upgrade up from July until now so that I could pre-order he Evo LTE. I sent an email to customer care but i'll also call them again. I honestly thought that it was quiet asinine when they told it to me. Sadly if it was misinformation, then her "supervisor" is also uninformed.

I'm going to wait for the Evo 3D for Evo 4G LTE trade in special, like they had last year, which was the Evo 4G for Evo 3D Trade In. If memory serves me correctly, I traded in my Evo 4G and paid $86 ? ($50 plus $36 Activation) at a local Sprint Store.

I might be waiting a long time.

Update: I found the paperwork.....$49.99 for the Evo 3D, $14.00 sales tax and an $18.00 upgrade fee. $81.99 total

For $30 you can just get the thing on the 18th. I'm getting $90 for my 3D, so for my upgrade all I have to pay is $110 and they waived my activation fee.

They said they would move my update up from June 1st to May 18th as well, but I have to order the phone from Telesales. They said i couldn't walk into a Sprint store on the 18th and get the phone, which is what I was hoping for. Anybody else heard this?

No. I would try walk in anyway

That makes no sense, sounds like they are feeding you crap.

I have had HORRIBLE dealings w/ them today. I think I'm about done. Wow and it's sad, they don't give a crap that their rep misinformed me and because she didn't note the account they refuse to honor the "price" that she quoted me. I worked in CS @ Cigna [for a few years before moving departments] and if I quoted someone an incorrect benefit, regardless to if it was noted or not we honored it when a customer complained. I felt like they were calling me a liar. I guess she realized she gave me inaccurate info and didn't want to note it. 11 years and I get treated like a customer whose had service for 11 minutes. I have steam coming out of my ears. PISSED!

What price did they quote you?
