Hello,

I have a first gen pixel. The phone still works almost flawlessly. I do find that sometimes it slightly lags if I turn my phone from landscape to portrait while closing apps.

The phone seems small to me. Seeing how it works fine, is it worth moving to a pixel 3xl or pixel 3axl? I would probably wait for the 4 to come out for the price to go down on the 3. (I like the fingerprint tech)

Has anyone gone from an og pixel to the 3xl..how is the size difference? I know the regular pixel 3 and pixel 3a are .5 inch wider. The notch i don't know if that would bother me or not.

I know the og pixel has the advantage of unlimited photo storage. Im also curious of how Android Q will be on pixel 1.

I'm also finding i have about 77% of my gb space available.

My brother had the original pixel for 3 years until last week. He upgraded to pixel 3a. LOVES IT. he comments about how much better the screen is and bigger!! Also raves about the speaker sound.

does it feel like plastic?
According to my brother, pixel 3a is a better phone compared to pixel original by a long shot. I didn't think it feels like plastic. He really loves his original pixel. I convinced him to get the pixel 3a and he is beyond impressed. I think you will be too. He things the screen is way bigger so I am not sure you need pixel 3a xl unless you really want to jump to bigger profile phones.

either that or buy what they call a refreshed Pixel 3XL on Amazon. I did two months ago and honestly absolutely nothing wrong with the phone when I got it. Got a heck of a deal on it as well instead of waiting until the next model was out for it to come down in price from Google.

Or used on craigslist. That's how I got my 3 XL. They are out there to be had for around $500 in excellent conditions.

If there's anything wrong with the phone they got back from someone, they either junk it (broken frame, etc.) or they replace parts. They got their profit (even including the cost of replacing the screen and motherboard) when they sold it the first time, so what you're getting is really a new phone, minus a little wear on the battery (which is the only part that bothers me - some people let the phone shut off due to low battery before they charge it, and that can kill a new battery in a month). But other than the battery wear, I'd have no problem ordering a refreshed one. (I've had about 6 Pixel 2s go through my hands, due to one problem or another - but I always figured out how to fix the problem and returned the replacement.) I wouldn't buy a 3 (or probably even a 4) because there's nothing in the 3 (other than the camera app, and that's been ported to the 2) that I don't have. Instant fingerprint recognition, fantastic Night Sight (better than my sight - it sees colors where all I see is black in the shadows at night), unlockable bootloader without worrying about voiding the warranty (I even had to send them a bug report once, and the phone was rooted - the dev I was working with just asked me to unroot and send him another one - they don't care if you root the phone) ... about the only thing I miss is the SD card slot. (And the replaceable battery, which is sitting with the dodos.)
