I have an S9+, where the charging wire wouldn't stay in properly and the speaker is really low on calls.

Since then I've tried cleaning out the lint and dust, the wire is still loose but not as bad as it was. However, most of the times on calls I can't hear much. Cause of this I was thinking of getting a new phone unless it can be fixed. Does it make sense to get an S10+ or Note 10+? Or the other alternative is an iPhone 11, as I've read the S20 is good but not worth the price?

Have you ever owned a Note device? There are a lot of extras that come with the Note, most famously the S-Pen. Personally I looked at the Note vs the S line and really didn't see where the S-Pen would play much of a role in my day to day. Sure it would be great to use a camera trigger and yeah writing instead of typing might come in handy once in awhile but for me the bonus features of the Note were not anything I couldn't do some other way or just plain live without. You seem to be familiar with this concept already as you've excluded the S20 based on what's important vs. the newest greatest thing and cost. I think the S10 is an obvious upgrade to the S9, IMHO.

As for the iPhone 11... Well you're in an Android forum so I don't foresee you getting a lot of recommendations for that device. However if it is something that's on the table for you there are plenty of comparison videos on YouTube for Apple vs Android. Here's one such video for the iPhone 11 vs the S10...

Oh and it's no accident that I picked one where Android is favored. Like I said Android forum. :D:D:D

Hahaha, my daughter has one , I know what it can do lol

See my box turned out horrible. It wasn't about size, cause everyone knows Apple users have been asking for bigger devices forever. They finally got them, obviously. No my "box" was, jokingly, about not being able to customize the device much and Apple's heavy handed control over what is released to, for and on the device, in a kidding and joking kind of way.

Yeah lacks customizations but not specs or software optimization to their powerful chips. They do what they supposed to and do it very well.

I don't customize that much anymore. I take away capacitive buttons and I like rearranging a couple of things. I haven't even changed the wallpaper on the Ultra.

I hear you , not to make this Apple vs Android thing , I do love both platforms probly little more Android side but only thing apple really lacks is to fully customize things which one day will change , which they can do and make their own theme store ,able to do more with widgets and moving icons and still be under it's own safe umbrella.

I'm the op, sorry I couldn't get myself logged in before, not sure why.

I've used the Note series phones before, but after having 4 note 4s just completely die on me for no reason, I gave up on them, and moved to the S7 Edge, and then the S9+. I even have an S8+ given to me that I don't use, the screen has a minor crack but it works perfectly fine.

I was a die hard Android fan from the Note 2, but I'm pretty much open to anything these days. Back then I used to run 2 phones, iPhone and BlackBerry, and then the blackberry was replaced with Android.

I bought my girlfriend the iPhone 11 Pro, which she's setting up as I type this, that's why it perked my curiosity.

As for customisations, I got rid of nova 2 days ago and running One Ui with a theme. Customisations are what make android great but I just don't use them anymore, my layout was at least a year old from my previous phones.

I looked at 2 or 3 comparison videos, it's like they both have features I like, such a hard decision. Other than no SD card, I like the look of the iPhone too. I also hoard so much junk, it wouldn't be a bad idea to be forced to clear my phone.

I have 172gb total storage that was full, I spent 2 hours deleting 30gb and still got so much more to delete. Not sure why I have 30k+ screenshots lol.

I was told the S20 is good but not worth the price, is this true?

Hi, welcome to AC !

Really you cant go wrong with any of these phones today, s20 is a really good phone , Note 10+, s10+ ,pixel 4xl , what matters to you mainly from a phone?

Had the same issue with mine. Its a build up of dirt on the top speaker grill. As its waterproof you can wash in warm water or spray with contact cleaner also does it i found this via a forum search last year.

Mainly videos, and photos.

I mean outside of talking to my girlfriend on video chat, I only record Snapchat clips of video games / stories. Also the occasional games like Pokemon Go which isn't exclusive to either device. I love high quality photos though. She's just shown me a photography mode? The iPhone 11 has, not sure if the Samsungs have that?

I still haven't made my decision lol, if I get an iPhone it'd probably just be the standard 11 with 64 gb, I could afford better but I'm kinda wanting to save the rest of my money for other things that are important.

I'd have to remove a lot of things though, I have over 130gb taken up on this phone.

Thanks, I'll give that a go! It's really awful.

Like what? Apple has their own cloud thing and Google's Photo backup works with Apple if you're talking photos and docs. I would imagine that Google Drive would work then too. Maybe mustang7757 can confirm that and if Apple's apps work the same as Android's. I thought I'd heard they don't have to be completely on the device and therefore take up less room. At least that's what I thought and how they were able to get away with putting out such small, in the memory department, devices. Not sure how that would work though but if that's correct you might not be giving up as much as you thought...
