I recently cracked my screen and was sent a replacement phone. Galaxy S8+ on AT&T in the US. The old phone updated on schedule last month, but the replacement phone arrived running Android 7.0 and Samsung Experience 8.1. Nothing unusual about that.

But I can't update it. I go to the Software update screen and am told the device is up to date. It's been about 24 hours. Is this something that takes a while, or do I need to do something to trigger it recognizing the opportunity to update?

Thanks in advance ...

Some Android updates are staggered so it may download after a while. If you want you can update manually using the Samsung Firmware Update Tool (not sure if it's the official name, don't remember)
